Arctic Happenings – Travel and dream away from the comfort of your armchair.

Newsletter from Arctic Adventure dated Jan. 10, 2021

With the arrival of the New Year, I look positively forward to what is to come. I am confident that in 2021 we may and can actively vacation again. And that’s why I have a nice surprise for you right away! Starting tomorrow, you can dream away from behind your screen during the Online VvKR Travel Fair. This fair will be from Monday, January 11 to Sunday, January 17, 2021.

Over the next week, several tour operators will give presentations about their trips. They are authentic and quality trips, away from the crowd, to special places. From Bolivia to Sudan and from South Africa to the Arctic! Presentations are in the evening during the week and in the afternoon on weekends. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for questions. I will give a presentation on Friday evening, January 15, from 7:00 to 7:30 pm.

Participation is absolutely free! All you need is a good Internet connection and, of course, a laptop, computer, tablet or smartphone to watch the webinar and ask your questions via chat. All you “must” do is sign up on the VvKR site.
Sign up now for a presentation at the online VvKR Travel Fair

After registering, you will receive a confirmation and later login information for the online meeting. By the way, you can sign up for multiple presentations.

And …. To make it even more fun! One €250 travel voucher will be raffled off among those who registered and participated in the presentation. This travel voucher can be redeemed at one of the participating travel specialists at the Online Travel Fair and entitles you to a discount of €250 on a trip to be booked in 2021 (when travel is again possible in a safe way, of course).

Expeditions moved up

“Nice and all such online fairs about cool expeditions, but for now we can’t go abroad.”
Travel abroad is indeed discouraged by the Dutch government until mid-March 2021. We have therefore moved all our trips to the end of March or to next year. We will see by then what the situation is for each destination and whether the trip can go ahead.

In addition, we make adjustments for our expeditions to allow them to proceed safely. Consider procedures for sleeping in the tent or cooking. For example, we sleep up to 2 people in a 3-person tent. If you want to sleep in your own tent, that is also possible.

We adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines as established by the Adventure Travel Trade Association.

Finally …. when you sign up for one of our expeditions now, you can cancel for free up to two weeks before departure.

Stay in shape!

Whether or not you join us next winter, it’s good to keep moving. Working from home probably eliminated a (sizable) chunk of your daily exercise (biking to work, walking to the bus stop, walking at work). And big chance is that you will now have a cookie or something sweet with your coffee or tea more often. So I have some great tips for you to stay in shape.

On my YouTube page you will find a playlist of some videos from the Dutch Mountain Sports Association. It is over 20 videos with exercises for strong calves or increased strength and mobility, for example. These exercises come in handy during an expedition, but you can also use them perfectly well at home. Have fun and good luck.

Whatever you do stay healthy!

Our money back guarantee

Would you like to join an Arctic Adventure expedition?
Then it is nice to know that we do not work with travel vouchers.
Is the trip cancelled because of an adverse travel advisory?
Then you will get your money back. Kind of easy. Pretty clear.
