About Arctic Adventure
This is how it started
I am Henk-Jan Geel, founder of Arctic Adventure. IPGA Polar guide and expedition leader.
About my adventures, I give many lectures. Invariably, people came to me raving after a lecture.
“Can I go on an expedition with you sometime?” was the most common question.
I had to think about that for a moment.
“How then?” “When then?” “With whom then?” “With what then?”
All questions that popped into my head as I thought about this. After all, such an expedition is not nothing.
“How do I make sure participants without much experience are safe?”
“How do I make sure they have the right materials and so enjoy them to the fullest?
“How can I have a true expedition experience without all the burdens?”
Expedition Experience
Eventually, I came up with the concept of the
‘Expedition Experience’.
The real expedition experience, but without all the hassle around it.
During the Expedition Experience, you will go out in a small group. With Arctic Adventure, I arrange almost everything.
Group materials such as tent, stoves and communication equipment have been arranged. But personal matters are also taken care of. Consider the sleeping bag, skis, shoes, sleeping mats, sleds. Big investments that you don’t have to make now or for a one time experience.
This is how the low-threshold all-inclusive expeditions were born.
Ultimately, these thoughts were captured in Arctic Adventure’s mission & vision statement
I think it would be nice to meet you in the snow sometime.
