Raymond’s experience in Sweden

By: Raymond, 1972
Expedition: Hunting for the Northern Lights
Location: Kiruna, Sweden

Preparation

  • What was your main reason for participating in the Expedition Experience?
Something different. Expedition sounds challenging. Love winter sports.
  • Did you receive enough information before we left. If not, what did you miss?
    Was fine.
  • How did you like the introductory meeting?
Nice to see everyone. Good to ask all the questions.
  • What do you think of the all in offer? (flight, lodging, food, equipment, guide)
Super, Arranging things separately is a lot harder locally.

The tour

  • What did you like most/most about the trip?
The tranquility with cross-country skiing. Every day only deal with basic elementary things.
  • What did you like least/difficult about the trip?
The cold was quite spicy but also an importantcondition.
  • What did you think of the trip itself: daily schedule, route choice, length, environment, location, etc.?
Pretty loose, was very nice. Leave when everyone was that far along. Estimation of route did disappoint in terms of planning.
  • What did you think of the draft guidance?
    Fine, relaxed, motivating.
  • This is an Expedition Experience. What was your most important experience/experience?
    Sledding, camping with extreme cold.

Recommendation

  • Would you recommend the Expedition Experience to others? If yes, because:
Yes, a way to really experience the expedition feeling.
  • To whom would you recommend this trip?
    Adventurous, fit, flexible people.
  • Other comments and tips
A little tighter in terms of break times. Food and drink keep you warm. Shoes with inner shoe so drying was easier.
