Free Access to a Day Full of Activities.

Whether you want to go out on your own or with one of our guides, take Mark October 3, 2026 on your calendar.

On this day you will discover:

• How to safely go on your own (winter) adventure
• What materials and clothing you need for a (winter) expedition
• How different shipping materials work
• Which winter trip is right for you
• How to properly prepare for a winter trek
• And you’ll meet other travelers and our guides for good stories

So at the end of the day, you will have gained a lot of new knowledge about winter expeditions.
Come prepared for equipment and clothing choices.
And you will have gained a lot of inspiration for your next adventure.

Activities are spread throughout the day. A central planning board indicates when and where each activity takes place.

There will also be time to participate in workshops.
These include ‘quick expedition tent setup‘, ‘safe expedition cooking‘, ‘physical trip preparation‘ and also a ‘food tasting’ of various expedition foods from XFood.nl.

• Meet the Guides
  Throughout the day, the guides give presentations and accompany workshops. So plenty of time to ask them questions about our tours or the workshops.
• Presentation: Clothing explanation and feedback
  We will go over the clothing you will need during winter expeditions. Above all, bring your own clothes. Then get feedback on this. That way you’ll know right away if it’s right, or if you need to make some adjustments.
• Presentation: Materials Explanation for Winter Expeditions
  You will be given a brief overview of all the materials we will bring on the expedition. That way you’ll have some idea of what is involved in such a trip.
• Presentation: Arctic Adventure Expeditions Winter Program
  We’ll give you an overview of all our trips for the coming winter. We explain the differences and why these tours are so special.
• Workshop: ‘Physical Trip Fitness’
  A great trip requires great physical preparation. Learn how to best prepare for winter trips. And that’s not just cold showering….
• Workshop: ‘Safe Cooking with a White Gas Stove’
  Fun and tasty. You get to work on the stove. Resulting in a cup of tea or coffee. If you can get the stove started, that is…
• Workshop: ‘Quick Expedition Tent Setup’
  Perhaps the most fun workshop. But in the snow, you want this done quickly and properly. So nice and helpful to have already done this once.
  ps. We are still looking for a good and powerful wind machine…. Do you happen to have one?
• Food tasting: ‘XFood.nl’
  During the Winter Adventure Fair, Derek-Jan from XFood.nl will be present. He is organizing a food tasting of various brands of expedition food. Discover your favorites to use on your next expedition! There is also a limited stock of expedition food available for sale.
• Lecture: ‘Trans Greenland Expedition’ by Henk-Jan Geel
  Inspiring one-hour lecture about the Trans Greenland expedition. You will hear what is involved in such a monster tour.
• Lovely swimming in the adjacent lake
  Need I say more. Bring your swimsuit and take a dip. Now it is still nice and warm ;-)
• Participants in our winter tours can try on touring langlauf boots.
  Important part. You fit the shoes you will be wearing during the trip. Bring nice thick socks to try on.
• Woolpower Sale
  Like previous years, you’ll have the opportunity to buy certain Woolpower clothing items at competitive prices. This mainly includes various base layers such as long underwear and mid-layers like Full Zip Jackets. You can get advice from the guides and experienced Arctic Adventure participant Arjen about which items are useful for your trip.
• Campfire into the wee hours of the morning
  Delightful afterglow over drinks. Telling strong stories and looking ahead to future adventures.
