Kebnekaise Women’s Conquest
Six months of training. Eight days of climbing.

_
Ingredients:
Rest, Nature, Northern Lights, Huskies & Team Spirit

You’ve done the Blue Label. You know what it’s like to sleep in a tent at minus 20.
You know it’s possible. Now you want more.
This is the next step.

The Kebnekaise Women’s Conquest is an 8-day climbing expedition in Swedish Lapland.
For women only. Maximum 7 participants.
With six months of personal preparation via Beast Mode On.
And Karin as your guide on the ice.
You stand on the summit. We make sure you’re ready for it.

Kebnekaise is the highest mountain in Sweden. 2,097 meters.
You reach it after 60 kilometers through mountain valleys, on skis, with a pulk.
That asks a lot of your fitness. And that’s exactly what you train for during those six months.
Not hard. Smart. Based on your body, your rhythm, your cycle.

I doubted if I was fit enough for Kebnekaise. On day two it was tough. On day six I stood on the summit. I didn’t expect that of myself. The preparation through Beast Mode On really made the difference.

Karin knows exactly when to encourage you and when to give you space. The group was small and close-knit. I went alone and came back with people I won’t soon forget.

Welcome to the Kebnekaise Women’s Conquest

You’ve done a Blue Label trip. You know how it feels to wake up in a tent at minus 20. You know the cold isn’t that bad. And you know you want more.

The Kebnekaise Women’s Conquest is for women who are ready for the next step. Not the biggest expedition of their lives, but one where the preparation is already part of the adventure.

Six months before departure, you start with Beast Mode On. Susan and Karin create a training schedule that fits your body, your cycle, and your busy life. You receive a Polar H10 heart rate monitor and a personal HRV dashboard. Every day you’ll know whether you can push yourself or if it’s better to recover. This way, you arrive in Nikkaluokta not just as a candidate, but as someone who is ready.

In Swedish Lapland, we start on skis. Pulk behind you. Mountain valleys ahead. Seven women, one guide. The first day is about getting used to the rhythm. By the second day, it’s already in your legs. On day four, you feel that you’re walking towards something.

Kebnekaise slowly appears. First as a silhouette on the horizon. Then as something concrete. A mountain with a name. Your goal for the past six months.

The summit is 2,097 meters. The route is technical but achievable. Karin leads the way. She knows where the ice is reliable and where you need to be careful. She knows the mountain. And she knows you, because she has followed your preparation for the past six months.

When you stand at the top, it’s quiet. The wind. Your breath. The view over Lapland.

You’ve trained for six months to get here. You’ve walked 60 kilometers through mountain valleys. You’ve pulled your own pulk and set up your own tent. And now you’re standing here.

That’s what you take home. Not as a memory. As knowledge.

Program Kebnekaise Women’s Conquest

Climb the Highest Mountain in Sweden in Winter.

Day 1

We meet in Kiruna around 12:00 PM. You’ll meet Karin and the rest of the group. Then we depart by minibus towards the Sami village of Nikkaluokta, arriving mid-afternoon. We sleep in simple, warm lodges. We cook for ourselves, eat together, and prepare for the days in the wilderness. You’ll check your gear. You’ll already recognize many faces from the Winter Adventure Fair in October. Tomorrow morning, it really begins.

Day 2 – snowmobile transfer and start of the trek

In the early morning, the snowmobile is ready. We load our pulks and skis. For the first few tens of kilometers, we are taken into the Vistas Valley. Here, in lower terrain with trees and bushes, the snow is sometimes unreliable. With the snowmobile, we avoid those risks.

As soon as we get higher and the snow is better, we switch to our skis. From here, we continue on our own. Deep into the wilderness. Slowly, rhythmically, in silence. Towards noon, we have lunch in the snow. In the afternoon, we pitch our tent for the first time. You melt snow, eat warm food, crawl into your sleeping bag early.

Day 3 – towards the Kebnekaise Massif

We pack up camp and ski further, now heading southwest. The landscape opens up. You feel your body adapting to the rhythm. Your pulk glides behind you. We take regular breaks. Warm drinks. A small snack. In the afternoon, we set up our camp again. Everything revolves around simplicity. Efficiency. Staying warm. Getting rest.

Day 4 – to the basecamp

Today we also continue our trek. In the familiar rhythm: an hour of walking, ten minutes break. Repeat. The silence is vast. The view expansive. If all goes according to plan, by the end of this day we will reach the spot where we set up our basecamp for the ascent of Kebnekaise. The tents stand firmly in the snow. We eat and rest. Tomorrow, the summit awaits.

Day 5-6 – the roof of Sweden

Today John joins us. A local guide with knowledge of the mountain. We start early. First with skis, then on snowshoes. The route depends on the weather and conditions.

The climb is not a technical climb. Mountaineering knowledge is not required.

The goal: to stand on the summit of Kebnekaise around noon. Sweden below you. The air thin. The silence absolute. In the afternoon, we descend to the basecamp. The tents are still there. We say goodbye to John.

Day 7 – back to civilization

We break camp and ski back to the agreed-upon point. There, the snowmobiles await us. They take us back through the valley to Nikkaluokta. In the village, we shower. There’s a warm meal. A chair. A bed. Your body feels tired, but satisfied.

Day 8 – departure to Kiruna

Early in the morning, the minibus takes us to Kiruna airport. We arrive there around 09:30 AM, well in time for the first flight to Stockholm. If you prefer to stay an extra day in Kiruna, or if your flight is in the evening, you can also disembark there.

Good to Know

The climb of Kebnekaise is planned for day 5, but nature determines the timing. Karin stays in daily contact regarding the weather and conditions. If the chance of good weather is higher earlier or later, we shift the summit day. It remains an expedition. Flexibility is part of the adventure.

Preparation

The preparation process starts six months before departure, in September 2026. Beast Mode On creates a personal training schedule based on your HRV data and cycle. You receive a Polar H10 heart rate monitor and daily load advice. There is a monthly check-in with your coach.

The Winter Adventure Fair is on October 3, 2026. A great moment to meet Karin and your fellow participants for the first time.

Shortly before departure, there is a preparation session with Karin: gear check, map discussion, and tent setup if possible.

During the Trip

The Kebnekaise Women’s Conquest is a Red Label expedition. This means: self-sufficient, expedition-style, in a small group of maximum 7 women.
We sleep in expedition tents. For safety, always with at least two people per tent.
Moving, cooking, and navigating are done together. The beauty of small groups is that a real and strong group feeling always develops. Sometimes friendships and reunions still happen years later.

WhatsApp

We keep in touch with each other before (and often after) in a WhatsApp group.

Fitness

This ‘Expedition Experience’ is a Blue label expedition and is low-threshold in design. Still, basic fitness is necessary. Depending on the weather, it could be a spirited ride.

You don’t have to run a marathon. But assume you should be able to run 10 kilometers with a 10-kilogram backpack at a normal pace, 10 days in a row.
10 kilometers of continuous running is also good. Do you have any questions about this? If so, please contact the guide.
During the trek, there is mainly physical stress on the knees and lower back.

Sports Medical Examination

Are you older than 55 and want to participate in this trip? Then we strongly advise you to have a sports medical examination performed. Read more about the possibilities here.

Safety

During the trip, we are in uninhabited mountain territory. In case of emergency, our position can always be reached by rescue services.
Karin carries communication equipment: Garmin inReach and satellite phone. Basecamp in the Netherlands follows along live.
Navigation: digital (GPS) and analog (compass and map).
Karin is certified in Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) and WGA II.

Equipment

You get to borrow the full winter expedition equipment. Skis, backcountry ski boots, sleeping bags, sled. By arrangement, you are free to bring your own gear. Provided it meets our requirements.
We also provide group materials. Cooking utensils, tents, navigation and communication equipment.

Packing List

After your registration (or upon request) you’ll receive a detailed packing list.

Beast Mode On

The 6-month preparation process via Beast Mode On is included in the price. You start in September 2026. Susan and Karin guide you from your first HRV measurement to the summit of Kebnekaise.
