Map & Compass navigation course of 1 day
No prior knowledge is required for this map and compass course.
We will arrange the compasses and other materials.
We start at 10 and finish at 4.
Learn to read map and compass in an active day outdoors.
You will learn how to orient with a staff map. An original topographic map.
We do this in a small group of up to 8 participants.

You will learn this during the course
- During the workshop, yes get to work with the four compass handles.
- You will learn map reading and compass navigation.
- You will navigate independently with map and compass.
- Nice and “old school” with a real compass.
- Skills that can come in handy when your TomTom or Google maps fail you (No range, no power, not with you etc.)
At the end of the day, you know:
- How to determine your position on a map
- How a compass works
- How to put your own route from the map into your compass
- How to walk a route with the compass
- How to determine distance without tools
- What a coordinate system is and how it works
- How to confidently set out on your own with map and compass

- Recta level compass
- Cards for exercises
- Card cover
- Map angle meter (You may keep this one)

There is something special for the children who participate in the Map and Compass workshop.
During the Map and Compass workshop, you will always get a number for a coordinate.
We will use the skills learned to search for real treasure.
Especially fun for children aged 12 and 15 years old.
