Fortunately, we survived and stayed dry in our tent. It was too dangerous to continue walking in the rain, so we took a full day’s rest. After a good night’s sleep, we left early in the morning.

The challenges of the crevasse region

Our trek went through a crevasse area, which can be very dangerous. Fortunately, it had stopped raining and we were able to walk safely through. We also encountered many streams caused by the rain and melt water from the glaciers. Some streams were easy to cross, but others were wider and with fast flowing icy cold water. We had to be careful and carefully find a place to cross.

Heading north

Despite the challenges, we covered a good distance today. We are still heading north toward the so-called Isotof Aang. We had 5 km to go and we ran hard. The weather was beautiful with bright sunshine and clear blue skies. We took some time to rest and dry our materials.

A new day

Now it is evening and I am going to sleep, because tomorrow morning we will start early again. We hope for overnight frosts so the snow will be firm again. In fact, it is very difficult to walk through soft snow, it makes the sled unusable and our feet and shoes get wet. But we are determined to move on and hope to be on the ski for the first time tomorrow. So far, we have only walked.

On to new adventures

The journey continues and we are ready for new adventures. Despite the challenges of the crevasse area and the many streams, we keep going in good spirits. We enjoy the beautiful nature and hope for more beautiful days. Follow our adventure and stay updated on our journey north.

After waiting a day because of rain, the expedition continued.
